I tend to think "management crisis" is a mis-characterisation; I agree it looks like one, but I think that while a lot of the people involved are competent managers, no degree of competence will save you from being determined to do the wrong thing. And that's the really sticky part; treating capital as income is the wrong thing to be doing even in strictly capitalistic terms.
