American Thanksgiving
Nov. 28th, 2013 08:10 amExcept when I lived in the US during my graduate student days, I have generally tended to ignore American Thanksgiving, which always feels to me far too late to be a harvest festival.
I pay a little more attention to it these days. Partly this is because I work in the securities area, where the closure of US markets has an impact; partly because there is a creeping infiltration of the USian "Black Friday" up here; and partly because I determined that I had at least one ancestor who would have been at the original Plymouth Colony celebration.
In any case, Happy Thanksgiving to any American readers.
